Dream in China ("we", "us", "our") is a travel-planning information website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Information you give us voluntarily — if you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you submit.
• Trip-planning preferences — answers you give in our trip planner (destination, travel month, number of days, interests, budget, group type, dietary needs). These are stored locally in your own browser (browser localStorage) so you can resume or share a plan. They are not uploaded to our servers and are not linked to you personally.
• Anonymous usage data — standard web-server / CDN logs (pages visited, browser type, country-level region). Used only to keep the site running and improve content.

2. How we use information

• To generate and display a personalised travel itinerary for you.
• To reply to you when you contact us.
• To maintain site security, fix errors and improve our content.

3. Cookies and local storage

We use browser localStorage to remember your language choice, your trip-planner answers, your comparison list and (if you purchase) your unlock status. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set by us. Third-party resources listed below may set their own cookies.

4. Third-party services

• Cloudflare Pages — hosting and content delivery.
• Google Fonts — web typography.
• Leaflet / Carto — map tiles for our interactive map.
• Dodo Payments — payment processing for paid digital products. Card and payment details are handled entirely by Dodo Payments; we never see or store your full payment information.
• Trip.com affiliate links — some hotel / ticket / flight links are affiliate links. If you click through and book, the booking is made with Trip.com under their own privacy policy.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers listed above, and only to the extent needed to operate the site.

6. Data retention

Contact-form messages are retained only as long as needed to respond and keep a record of the enquiry. Locally-stored preferences stay in your browser until you clear them.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you have sent us. You may also clear all locally-stored preferences at any time via your browser settings. To make a request, email us at the address below.

Our service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
